NFL: For all the changes, draft kind of looked, well, normal

For all the uniqueness of this NFL draft, including the angst over a potential communications fiasco, things looked and sounded pretty normal Thursday night. Quarterbacks were in demand. Ohio State(the top three picks played there) and the Southeastern Conference (a record 15 picks) dominated.

NFL: Jaguars fill holes by drafting CB Henderson, DE Chaisso

The Jacksonville Jaguars used the first round of the NFL draft to land replacements for two of their best — and most disgruntled — defenders. The Jaguars chose speedy Florida cornerback CJ Henderson with the ninth pick and versatile LSU pass-rusher K'Lavon Chaisson with the 20th selection.

Thursday night was supposed to be Senior Night for the Columbia baseball team. It’s a night that’s always been special for coach Brian Thomas but this one meant even more. His son, Hunter, was going to be honored alongside four other seniors.

NFL: Percy Harvin planning comeback after 4-year hiatus

GAINESVILLE — Percy Harvin is planning an NFL comeback nearly four years after his last game. The former Florida star and first-round draft pick by Minnesota in 2009 expects to get invited to a training camp this season and show his 32-year-old body still has what it takes to be an elite playmaker.

COMMENTARY: Let's honor the seniors who lost their seasons

We knew it was coming, even before Gov. Ron DeSantis made his announcement Sunday. In reality, it’s been inevitable for weeks. There was simply no way high school sports could resume this spring.

WINTER ALL-AREA: McGuigan named LCR's Wrestler of the Year

After losing his first match at state, Alex McGuigan battled back. The Columbia senior won his next two matches in the blood round. One more and he was headed to the medal stand. “I was feeling good,” McGuigan said.

NFL: Jaguars looking to trade RB Leonard Fournette

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars are ready to move on from running back Leonard Fournette. A person familiar with the decision says the Jaguars are actively looking to trade the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
