COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEC to allow workouts to resume June 8

Southeastern Conference schools will be able to bring athletes in all sports back to campus for voluntary activities starting June 8 at the discretion of each university. The SEC’s announcement Friday is the latest sign that a college football season will be launched in some form this fall.

The NCAA Division I Council voted Wednesday to lift a moratorium on voluntary workouts by football and basketball players effective June 1 as a growing number of college leaders expressed confidence that fall sports will be possible in some form despite concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

The coronavirus pandemic may have ended Tracy White’s high school career prematurely but Columbia’s speedster isn’t done yet. Not even close. He’s headed to the next level. White recently signed a track & field scholarship to compete at Savannah State in Georgia.

NFL: Some teams reopen training facilities with government OK

A limited number of NFL teams reopened their training facilities Tuesday, while many were prohibited by government restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic. Commissioner Roger Goodell gave the 32 clubs the go-ahead for limited reopenings as long as state and local municipalities allow them.
