NFL: Jaguars agree to sign journeymen defenders Marsh, Woods

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to sign two journeymen defenders in free agency: linebacker/pass-rusher Cassius Marsh and defensive tackle Al Woods. Marsh, who notched 36 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in 16 games with Arizona last season, agreed to terms on a one-year contract Monday.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia coach Steve Faulkner finishes runner-up in 6A Coach of the Year voting

Columbia’s stellar basketball season received more recognition on Monday. Head coach Steve Faulkner finished runner-up in the the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 6A Coach of the Year voting behind Bartow’s Terrence McGriff, who led the Yellow Jackets to the state championship.

NFL: Tom Brady officially signs with Buccaneers

TAMPA — A new look for the NFL: Tom Brady in Tampa Bay pewter and red rather than Patriots red, white and blue. The six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback signed a two-year contract in free agency on Friday, embarking on a “new football journey” with the Buccaneers.

COLLEGE SPORTS: ACC, SEC officially cancel spring athletics for rest of academic year

The ACC was first. The SEC wasn’t far behind. Both conferences announced Tuesday that all athletic-related activities through the remainder of the academic year have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The ACC made the announcement shortly before noon.
