BOYS BASKETBALL: Gaines selected to all-state second team for Class 6A

Columbia shooting guard Kenney Gaines was selected to the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC) and Source Hoops all-state second team for Class 6A on Thursday night. Gaines helped lead the Tigers to a 28-3 record this season and their first trip to the state Final Four since 1968.

NFL: For all the changes, draft kind of looked, well, normal

For all the uniqueness of this NFL draft, including the angst over a potential communications fiasco, things looked and sounded pretty normal Thursday night. Quarterbacks were in demand. Ohio State(the top three picks played there) and the Southeastern Conference (a record 15 picks) dominated.
