PREP FOOTBALL: Columbia defensive lineman Terrick Ponds commits to ASA College

Terrick Ponds believes he’s a Division I football player. He plans to prove that at ASA College in Miami. Columbia’s defensive tackle verbally committed to the Silver Storm on Friday, a little less than nine months removed from tearing his ACL just two games into his senior season.

CORONAVIRUS: DeSantis willing to host teams for restart of sports

TALLAHASSEE — Florida is willing to be a restart site for professional sports leagues, just like Arizona, when play resumes following shutdowns caused by the new coronavirus.

D’Andre Jefferson is staying close to home. Columbia’s 6-foot-6 forward verbally committed to Florida Gateway College on Tuesday to continue his basketball career. Jefferson announced his decision in a Twitter post.
