PREP FOOTBALL: Turnovers spark Fort White's win over Belleview

FORT WHITE — It started a lot like their matchup a year ago in Belleview. And much like that blowout, Friday’s rematch saw the Indians’ defense make big plays to secure the win. Fort White forced five turnovers to spark momentum for the offense in a 26-15 win over the Rattlers.

PREP FOOTBALL: Lafayette stings Suwannee on Hill’s late TD

MAYO — With the game on the line, Lafayette had one more chance to prove that the most physical team would win Friday night. Leading 37-30, the Hornets’ defense had one more stop to get with 2:45 remaining at Dale Walker Field with Suwannee facing a 4th-and-2 at the LHS 49.

PREP FOOTBALL: Land, Vought lead Branford to blowout win over Wewa

BRANFORD — A good week of practice turned into a great Friday night for Branford. Rebounding from a season-opening setback, the Buccaneers turned four solid workdays into a 32-7 romp of visiting Wewahitchka at Buccaneer Stadium on Friday night.

When facing a Mike Coe coached football team, it’s no secret you must stop the run. That’s easier said than done, though. Coffee rolls into Lake City for Friday’s 7:30 p.m. kickoff with some new faces in the backfield but another stellar rushing attack, nonetheless.

PREP FOOTBALL: Suwannee aims to bounce back against Lafayette following blowout loss

LIVE OAK — Suwannee coach Kyler Hall can’t wait to get to Dale Walker Field. Stuck with the bad taste of a 42-6 beatdown to rival Columbia left in his mouth since last Friday night, Hall is eager for the Bulldogs to get a new start. That will come at 7:30 p.m.

ANALYSIS: Collins-to-Caldwell connection has chance to be great for Columbia
