FORT WHITE — John’l Lawson had been itching to make an impact. After having a modest game through the air and minus-13 yards on the ground in a tough Week 1 loss to Taylor County, the junior found his groove for Friday’s 26-15 win over Belleview.

PREP FOOTBALL: Turnovers spark Fort White's win over Belleview

FORT WHITE — It started a lot like their matchup a year ago in Belleview. And much like that blowout, Friday’s rematch saw the Indians’ defense make big plays to secure the win. Fort White forced five turnovers to spark momentum for the offense in a 26-15 win over the Rattlers.

BRANFORD — A good week of practice turned into a great Friday night for Branford. Rebounding from a season-opening setback, the Buccaneers turned four solid workdays into a 32-7 romp of visiting Wewahitchka at Buccaneer Stadium on Friday night.

PREP FOOTBALL: Columbia aims to tame Coffee's run game in Friday night showdown

When facing a Mike Coe coached football team, it’s no secret you must stop the run. That’s easier said than done, though. Coffee rolls into Lake City for Friday’s 7:30 p.m. kickoff with some new faces in the backfield but another stellar rushing attack, nonetheless.
