GAINESVILLE — It didn’t take Tim Tebow very long to realize Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson was different. Less than an hour, actually. Tebow worked out with Richardson a few days after the freshman arrived on campus in January 2020. Richardson’s 6-foot-4, 236-pound frame stood out.

NFL: Broncos stars Miller, Chubb could reunite against Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE — One of the NFL’s most dominant pass-rushing duos could be on the field together for the first time in nearly two years Sunday. It would be somewhat fitting if it happened against Jacksonville, which has lost a franchise-record 16 consecutive games.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Jones pleads not guilty to killing Miami football star Bryan Pata

MIAMI — A former University of Miami football player pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges of killing a teammate outside a South Florida apartment complex in 2006.

PREP ROUNDUP: CHS wins 12 events in tri-meet vs. Baker County, Middleburg; plus golf results at CHS, BHS & SHS

Columbia’s swim teams won 12 events between the boys and girls in a tri-meet against Baker County and Middleburg on Thursday. Individual winners for the girls included Casey Fair (2:24.17 in 200 freestyle; 6:28.92 in 500 freestyle), Kaydence Clark (1:07.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Mumford named new Suwannee head coach

LIVE OAK — Time is not on Suwannee and Shane Mumford’s side. School started more than a month ago. Basketball practice is set to start in six weeks. Mumford, the Bulldogs’ new boys basketball coach, just met the players Thursday afternoon.
