BOYS BASKETBALL: Mumford named new Suwannee head coach

LIVE OAK — Time is not on Suwannee and Shane Mumford’s side. School started more than a month ago. Basketball practice is set to start in six weeks. Mumford, the Bulldogs’ new boys basketball coach, just met the players Thursday afternoon.

FORT WHITE — The Indians have been on clean-up duty this week. Following Fort White’s 27-13 win over Hamilton County on Friday, there was a concerted effort among the coaching staff to fix the mistakes that blemished an otherwise great all-around game from each side of the ball.

PREP VOLLEYBALL: P.K. Yonge rallies to edge Columbia in tiebreaker

It couldn’t have been any closer. Locked in a fifth deciding set, Columbia and P.K. Yonge delivered blow after blow to one another down to the final point. The teams even exchanged match point three times as they pushed each other to the limit.
