Columbia beat Bell 3-1 (28-26, 18-25, 25-14, 25-7) on Thursday at the Richardson Sixth Grade Academy. Brandi Oliver led the Tigers (12-9) offensively with 17 kills and seven aces to go with seven blocks and eight digs.

FRIDAY NIGHT PREVIEW: Columbia meets Riverside with district title on the line

It’s the same story every year in the rivalry that’s developed between Columbia and Riverside. The winner wins the district crown.  When the Tigers and Generals meet tonight in the Backyard at 6, that’ll be the case again, this time in District 3-6A.

FRIDAY NIGHT PREVIEW: Suwannee hopes to turn adversity into ‘something special’ at Madison County

LIVE OAK — Not much has gone right recently for Suwannee. The Bulldogs have lost three straight games with struggles in all three phases and now head to Boot Hill Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff today against Madison County, a rival they haven’t beaten since 1995. It’s not an ideal situation.

PREP ROUNDUP: Columbia, Suwannee split swim meet on Senior Night; CHS golf teams win

Columbia’s girls swim team beat Suwannee 248-184 in a dual meet on Thursday, while the Suwannee boys won 114-81. Individual victories for the CHS girls included Casey Fair in the 200 freestyle (2:20.56) and 500 freestyle (6:21.10), Kaydence Clark in the 100 butterfly (1:10.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: No. 20 Florida seeks bounce-back performance against Vandy
