VARSITY WEEKLY: Columbia upsets nationally-ranked Niceville in boys soccer

In desperate need of a win, Columbia’s boys soccer team pulled off its biggest of the season Saturday night. The Tigers (8-8-2) upset then-ranked Class 6A No. 2 Niceville, which entered the match also ranked 14th nationally by MaxPreps.

LIVE OAK — When he first started running cross country in middle school, Logan Haley set a carrot out in front of himself to chase for the next six years. By the time Haley had graduated and finished competing at Suwannee High School, he wanted to set the school record.

LIVE OAK — It was going to take the Suwannee girls cross country’s team absolute best to earn a repeat trip to state. Fortunately, the Bulldogs had a not-so-secret weapon. Going into the Region 1-2A meet at the Cecil Field Golf Course in November, Suwannee was on the outside looking in.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Faulkner calls Columbia's performance 'terrible' despite win over Madison County

Columbia coach Steve Faulkner sat down on the bench at halftime.  He didn't even go into the locker room. In fact, he didn't move again until the game was over. Even in a 20-point win, Faulkner was extremely frustrated with the Tigers' performance, one he labeled “horrendous” and “terrible.
