Weston Thomas’ relief appearance didn’t start too well. After entering the game with the bases loaded with only one out, the junior right-hander walked Forest shortstop Ryan Cushenberry on five pitches to bring in a run, putting the tying run at second base.

It took Columbia’s bats a bit to wake up. But once they did, Bronson didn’t stand a chance. Emily Delgado and Luisa Taylor both homered while Ryleigh Stone was solid in the circle in her second start to lead the Tigers to a 9-0 win over the Eagles at home Thursday night.

The game was there for the taking. Down two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Columbia had the bases loaded with only one out. Providence School relief pitcher Tanner Eckert was rattled too, throwing two straight balls to Case Bennett after allowing a single and two walks.
