The Region 1-5A standings in boys basketball tightened even more in the latest FHSAA rankings released Tuesday. Columbia (11-9) jumped from eighth to sixth after going 2-1 with wins over Buchholz playoff contenders Buchholz and Bradford.

MAYO — Tywan Williamson remembers the start to his junior season. Or rather, the lack of starts. Coming off an ankle injury from the Hornets’ spring game, Williamson was held out of the team’s season-opening win over Dixie County before playing sparingly against Suwannee and Brookwood.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia leads wire-to-wire to snap Bradford's 10-game win streak

STARKE — In a hostile environment inside the Bradford High School gymnasium, Columbia showed no fear. Especially Shaheed White. The junior guard scored 20 points and had five assists to lead the Tigers to a wire-to-wire 67-55 win over the Tornadoes on Thursday night.
