Wawa coming to Live Oak

LIVE OAK — Wawa is coming to Live Oak as well. The City of Live Oak’s board of adjustment and planning and zoning board both cleared procedural steps Monday necessary for the convenience store to construct its first location in Suwannee County.

DOT closing Wellborn ramps for paving

WELLBORN — Ramps off Interstate 10 in eastern Suwannee County will be closed for repaving to close out the month. The Florida Department of Transportation announced Wednesday, ramp closures for I-10 at County Road 137 in Wellborn will begin today. The daytime ramp closures will run from 8 a.m.

Live classical performances continue in Live Oak as the Friends of Music concert series presents the San Marco Chamber Music Society on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary of Covenant First Presbyterian Church, 421 White Avenue.

Live Oak Kiwanis: A century of helping children

LIVE OAK — For more than 100 years, the focus for the Kiwanis Club of Live Oak has not changed: supporting the youth in the community. That devotion and dedication was honored last week when the Kiwanis Club held its 100th birthday celebration Friday at Heritage Park and Gardens. State Sen.

Suwannee reverses course on new fire station

LIVE OAK — Suwannee County’s north station has a new, yet old, location. One month after voting to construct a new station on the property purchased for a regional emergency shelter, the Suwannee County Commission reversed course at its Tuesday meeting.
The Suwannee County Courthouse was damaged by Hurricane Helene last month with two of the four clock faces knocked out and copper peeled off the dome.
