LIVE OAK — Christmas is almost here and the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park’s Suwannee Lights will help lead in to the celebration this weekend. The Suwannee Lights drive-through exhibit will open Friday, Nov. 29, and will be open nightly thru Dec.

Suwannee OKs zoning changes for development

LIVE OAK — The Suwannee County Commission provided support to both future development and preserving the past Tuesday night. During the commission’s meeting Tuesday, it unanimously approved zoning changes on three separate projects to allow for future development at those sites.

Weapons, booze, drugs found at Suwannee CI

LIVE OAK — Dozens of weapons, gallons of booze and methamphetamine were among the contraband items confiscated during an unannounced sweep of Suwannee Correctional Instiution, state officials said Thursday.

Health advisory lifted on Withlacoochee

JASPER — The health advisory on the Withlacoochee River has been lifted. The Florida Department of Health in Hamilton County announced Thursday morning that it was removing the advisory for high bacteria levels on the river.

Suwannee schools agree to speed up disaster assistance

County, DOT lay out roadmap for Ellisville interchange

MASON CITY — A collaborative effort with the Florida Department of Transportation and the Columbia County Commission to change traffic patterns in Ellisville went before local residents Monday afternoon during an open house.
