Suwannee administration moves back downtown

LIVE OAK — The hub of government activity in downtown Live Oak now also includes Suwannee County’s administration. Early last month, the county’s administrative office was moved to the second floor of the county’s Building Department office, 224 Pine Ave.

Astralis Chamber Ensemble coming to Live Oak

LIVE OAK — A world-traveled musical trio is set to bring its talents to Suwannee County. The Astralis Chamber Ensemble will perform as the third concert in the 2024-25 Friends of Music Concert Series on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Covenant First Presbyterian Church, located at 421 White Ave. The 7:30 p.m.

Braun named Suwannee’s top teacher

LIVE OAK —  A veteran educator, who has taught in several different realms of the educational field in Texas and Florida, was honored as Suwannee County’s best teacher.

Pair killed in head-on Hamilton collision

JASPER — Two people were killed Wednesday morning in a head-on collision in Hamilton County. A Florida Highway Patrol release said a white pickup was headed east on State Road 6 around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday while a white box truck was headed west on the road at the same time.

LIVE OAK — The North Florida Water Utilities Authority agreed to a deal that it hopes gets the startup authority up and running.

LifeSouth celebrating Blood Donor Month

January is National Blood Donor Month, and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers are kicking off 2025 by celebrating in helping to spread awareness toward the importance of giving blood.

LIVE OAK — The North Florida Water Utilities Authority — and both Columbia and Suwannee counties’ administrations — want help sooner than later.

Suwannee Education Foundation hosting TOY banquet Tuesday

LIVE OAK — Suwannee’s top teachers — and other employees — will be recognized Tuesday. The Suwannee Education Foundation is hosting its annual Teacher of the Year Banquet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Weed’s Cerveny Conference Center, 11057 Camp Weed Place.

Lafayette constitutional officers to be sworn in
