Health advisory issued for Withlacoochee River

JASPER — A sewer overflow in South Georgia is causing health concerns on the Withlacoochee River. The Florida Department of Health in Hamilton County issued a health advisory Thursday to residents and visitors near the river due to excess E.coli bacteria levels.

LIVE OAK — Steven Dicks has become the newest board member of the North Florida Water Utilities Authority Board of Directors.

LHS wins parliamentary procedure national title at FFA convention

INDIANAPOLIS — The Lafayette FFA chapter’s trip to the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo netted one national title and three other “gold” finishes. Lafayette FFA competed in four career and leadership development events at the national convention, which was held in Indianapolis on Oct. 23-26.

MAYO — In yet another Election Night surprise, a 32-year incumbent has been upended from the Lafayette County Board of County Commissioners. Andrew Branche, a political newcomer who’d never run for office before, ousted commission chair Earnest Jones from his District 5 seat.
