Columbia County up to 13 covid-related deaths

Two new deaths in covid-19 positive patients has raised Columbia County’s death toll to 13 from the pandemic. The Florida Department of Health in Columbia County announced Tuesday the deaths of an 85-year-old male and an 81-year-old female.

FDC secretary, deputy secretary test positive for covid-19

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Department of Corrections’ top officials tested positive for covid-19. In a release Friday announcing the positive tests for Secretary Mark Inch and Deputy Secretary Ricky Dixon, the department said it is not known where Inch and Dixon became exposed to the virus.

LIVE OAK — Four more Suwannee County residents have died after contracting the covid-19 coronavirus. According to the Florida Department of Health on Monday, four men — ages 73, 72, 74 and 76 — have passed away with covid-19, raising Suwannee County's coronavirus-related death toll to 36.

Two killed in I-75 accident

Two passengers were killed following a single-vehicle accident Friday night on Interstate 75. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Ford SUV from traveling north on I-75 around 8:30 p.m.
