Inmate dies at county lockup

Authorities say no foul play is suspected in an inmate death Thursday at the Columbia County Detention Facility. According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, EMS assistance was requested at the jail around noon Thursday after jail staff found the unresponsive inmate.

The 70th annual National Day of Prayer has arrived and events are scheduled for both Lake City and Live Oak. Believers in Lake City will gather at Olustee Park in front of Lake City Hall in downtown Lake City at noon today.

LCPD collects unused meds in Take Back
