A house in northwest Lake City was struck by gunfire late Tuesday night, according to authorities. A Lake City Police Department release states officers responded to NW Lee Lane at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday to a report of gunfire.

After five 911 calls on Saturday, a Lake City man was arrested after his neighbors also began calling for help. A Lake City Police Department report released Tuesday states that Michael Davis, 35, called 911 around 7:30 p.m.

The investigation into human remains discovered near the Baker County line continues. Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a wooded area along SE County Line Road around 4:15 p.m. Monday after remains were discovered by a person walking in the area.
