Foods shine at Farm to Table

There was more than one star attraction Thursday night. From corn chowder, biscuits, greens and a salad, to grits with shrimp sauce, wings or ribs, grown by Columbia County farmers took center stage at Darby Pavilion.

County lays off workers at RCC

Within a day of a meeting regarding recreational activities at the Richardson Community Center, three Columbia County recreation department employees were laid off. “The positions no longer existed so we had to lay three people off — one full-time and two part-time (positions).

A home in northeastern Lake City was struck by gunfire Wednesday night, although nobody was injured. According to the Lake City Police Department, officers responded to four separate reports of gunfire in the northeastern area of the city between 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

County eyes Richardson agreement

More than 100 people poured into the Columbia County School Board Administrative Complex Auditorium Tuesday evening, with the majority of them urging county commissioners to keep the Richardson Community Center open.
