Thousands attend ‘Fun in the Park’

Olustee Park was full of fun activities Saturday morning. Florida Gateway College held a ‘Fun in the Park’ event Saturday as one of its 75th anniversary celebration events and drew an estimated 1,500 people to downtown Lake City.

Report: Hospital fence needs facelift following punches

A fence at the HCA Lake City Hospital is in need of surgery after a Lakeland man finished with it Friday night. A Columbia County sheriff’s deputy was working security at the hospital Friday when he was notified that one of the hospital’s nurses was trying to leave around 10:10 p.m.

NorthStar events promoting health, wellness

The NorthStar Family Resource Center is hosting a pair of events next week to promote community health and wellness. The facility, which is located at the Ferguson Center on the Richardson Community Center property, 255 NE Coach Anders Lane, will be held in conjunction with Another Way.

Officials pitch half-cent sales tax for schools

Columbia County school officials are doing their best to sell a sales tax that voters will decide on next month. That sales pitch continued Thursday at Richardson Community Center.
