A local farm manager and middle school FFA advisor is hoping to add an element of fright, mystery and ghoulishness into the weekend for family fun. Paranormal Nights at Pinemount Plantation, 4310 SW Pinemount Road, will take place 7:30-11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday night.

An Amber Alert was issued Thursday evening for a Lake City teen that has been missing since Tuesday. Ashlynn Cox, a 16-year-old, was last seen Tuesday in the area of the 180th block of SE Beech Street in Lake City.

Former CCSO officer arrested

A former Columbia County Sheriff’s Office detention officer is now behind bars. Clayton Pyle, 37, was arrested on a warrant in Illinois after he fled the state on administrative leave during a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation, the CCSO announced Wednesday.

Schools receiving state bonuses
