BOYS BASKETBALL: Turnovers, missed free throws cost Columbia in another loss to Oakleaf

Unlike their meeting two weeks ago, round two between Columbia and Oakleaf was much closer. But two ongoing issues reared their head again for the Tigers — turnovers and missed free throws. That allowed the Knights to escape the Tigers’ Den with a season sweep.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: FGC's record back to .500 in an uneven season so far

The best way to sum up Florida Gateway College’s season so far is inconsistent. The 2024-25 campaign started off promising for the Timberwolves as they won four of their first five games. But then they lost five straight, putting their season at an early crossroads.

FORT WHITE — An explosive weapon out wide has officially signed on to play at the next level. Fort White receiver Mike Peterson Jr. put ink to paper Wednesday morning on National Signing Day, signing his letter of intent to play at Arkansas State University next season.

PREP SOFTBALL: Fort White pitcher Kadence Compton signs with Indian River State College

FORT WHITE — Kadence Compton still has work to do at the high school level. The rising senior will see the bulk of the work in the pitcher’s circle this upcoming softball season. But that didn’t stop her from deciding her next move after her time in Fort White.

BOYS BASKETBALL — Trenton 64, Fort White 33: Mason VunCannon (16 points, 10 rebounds), Nathan Ridgell (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Noah Owens (10 points, 12 rebounds) all recorded double-doubles to lead the Tigers (2-1) to a blowout win over the Indians (0-1) at home.
