BOYS SOCCER — Santa Fe 2, Columbia 1: Trace Williams scored a goal on an assist from Peyton Palmer but the Tigers (2-2-2) fell to the Raiders (6-1) on the road thanks to a pair of goals from Jose Bustamante and Mason Kramer. CHS goalkeeper Logan Wheeldon made four saves in the loss.

GIRLS BASKETBALL — Fort White 52, Bradford 31: Zuri Hollie scored 16 points, Isreal Hart finished with 15 points, Tanesha Sloan added 10 points and Erickah Roberson chipped in with seven points to lead the Indians (2-0) to a blowout win over the Tornadoes (0-1) on Thursday.

GIRLS SOCCER: Columbia posts shutout, hands Wakulla first loss of season

Even with a win over Eastside on Tuesday, Columbia coach Chip Garner knew his team could play better. He wanted better communication from his players and for the Tigers to trust each other to make plays on the pitch.

PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White focused on stopping potent Williston rush attack in Class Rural quarterfinals

FORT WHITE — Following an upset win over No. 5 seed Jay in the first round of the Class Rural playoffs, Fort White figures to follow the same game plan heading into the second round. The Indians (6-4) are set to host No. 13 Williston (7-4) for a 7:30 p.m.

PREP FOOTBALL: Armed with belief, Lafayette aims for big upset over No. 1 seed Hawthorne in Class Rural quarterfinals

MAYO — You won’t find many people giving Lafayette a chance to knock off top-seeded Hawthorne. But inside Lafayette’s locker room, there’s belief. “For us it really doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks as long as our guys are locked in and ready to go,” Lafayette head coach Marcus Edwards said.

GIRLS SOCCER: Injuries don’t stop Columbia in dominant win over Eastside

After a fast start to the season, Columbia had no intention of stopping that momentum Tuesday.  The Tigers got a fortunate bounce off several Eastside defenders in the first 10 minutes to get on the board and never looked back in its 4-1 win at the CYSA fields.
