KEYSTONE HEIGHTS — Niki Sossie, Marlee Hunt and Mia Brasel each scored a goal and had an assist to help Columbia's girls soccer team bounce back with a 3-2 win over Keystone Heights on the road Tuesday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Fort White's defense smothers Baker County

GLEN ST. MARY — According to Isreal Hart, the majority of her Fort White’s scoring happened on the defensive end of the court. Based on the turnovers she and her teammates generated throughout the second half of Tuesday’s game, she’s not wrong.

PREP SPORTS: Columbia boys fall 2 spots in region in latest FHSAA hoops rankings

Following Friday’s 44-37 win over Madison County, Columbia lost to North Marion 38-35 in the Jim Haley Classic on Saturday and it had some repercussions in the latest FHSAA rankings released on Tuesday. The Tigers (11-7) fell from the 4-seed to the 6-seed in Region 1-5A with a 13.

PREP ROUNDUP: Columbia holds on to beat Madison County for 6th straight win

Zavian Douglas scored 20 points as Columbia held off Class Rural No. 4 Madison County for a 44-37 road win Friday night. Marlin Haywood added eight points and Zamarion Jones had five for the Tigers, who won their sixth straight to improve to 11-6.

BOYS SOCCER: Columbia starts fast, then holds off late surge from Gainesville

Columbia head coach Ed Turner is already in playoff mode. His team got a brief taste of that kind of intensity at the CYSA fields Friday night. The Tigers jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first half after falling behind by one, then held on during a late Gainesville rally for the 3-2 win.
