BRANFORD — Are you ready for some football? For their foray into Monday Night Football, Branford coach Tim Clark is hoping his Buccaneers are plenty rowdy when Hamilton County and Bell visit Cleve Sikes Field at Buccaneer Stadium at 7 p.m. Monday for a spring jamboree.

PREP FOOTBALL: Suwannee impresses in spring game win over Oakleaf

ORANGE PARK – It didn’t look good early for Suwannee High. Utilizing tempo, host Oakleaf marched right down the field on the game’s opening drive for an easy score. But two drives later as the Knights appeared ready to regain the lead, Suwannee safety Travis McKinney had other plans.

PREP FOOTBALL: Suwannee travels to Oakleaf for spring game with Lang to start at quarterback

LIVE OAK — Let the fun begin. After three weeks of spring practice, the Suwannee Bulldogs get their reward tonight with a trip to Jacksonville for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Oakleaf. “This is the payout for spring,” SHS coach Kyler Hall said. “Spring is four weeks of practice with one game.

NFL: Notable college QBs have been changing positions for years

JACKSONVILLE — Tim Tebow wasn’t the first — and surely won’t be the last — college quarterback to switch positions in the NFL. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner is, however, the first to do it more than a decade after making his professional debut.

NFL: Jaguars TE Farrell, a 5th-round pick, signs rookie contract

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars signed rookie tight end Luke Farrell on Thursday, getting their third of nine draft picks under contract. Fourth-round pass rusher Jordan Smith and sixth-round receiver Jalen Camp signed earlier this week.
