HOOVER, Ala. — Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey echoed the NCAA president's call for potential changes in how college athletics are governed Monday, though he did not endose a breakaway by the five most powerful leagues.

SANDWICH, England — Collin Morikawa gazed adoringly at the claret jug, thrust it into the air and then gave it a kiss, a two-time major champion at age 24. This time there were people to cheer him.

Brock Edge went to Florida full of excitement.  He was getting the chance to play for one of the top baseball programs in America while following in the footsteps of his father Shayne Edge, who was a punter for the Gators in the 90s.  But the Columbia High graduated couldn’t catch a break.

Tyler Myrick pretty much knew Monday night that his name was going to be called in the 2021 MLB First-Year Player Draft. It didn’t diminish the moment, though, Tuesday when the San Francisco Giants drafted the right-hander from Lake City in the 14th round.
