PREP ROUNDUP: Lafayette sweeps Fort White in District 6-R quarterfinals

No. 2 seed Lafayette swept No. 7 seed Fort White 25-4, 25-18, 25-17 in the District 6-R quarterfinals at home Monday night. The win sends the Hornets (15-5) to Tuesday’s semifinal where they’ll face No. 3 seed Union County, which swept 6-seed Taylor County. The season is over the Indians (11-12).

PREP ROUNDUP: Haley sets new Suwannee record at New World Fall Spectacular

Logan Haley didn’t just run with the best on Saturday. He also set a new Suwannee record. Haley ran a 15:59 at the New World Fall Spectacular, breaking the previous SHS boys record of 16:19 that was held by himself as well as Morgan Mobley.

PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White dominates Zarephath Academy on homecoming

FORT WHITE — It was hard to find anything wrong with the Indians’ performance at Arrowhead Stadium. A storybook homecoming week capped by a near-perfect performance on the field.  Fort White ran all over Zarephath Academy from start to finish Friday night en route to a 49-6 blowout.

PREP FOOTBALL: Two plays cost Suwannee against Baker County in OT heartbreaker

MACCLENNY —  It came down to just what Suwannee had talked about for two weeks. The message for the Bulldogs throughout the bye week and preparation for Friday’s District 2-3A trip to Baker County’s Memorial Stadium was that it would come down to two plays.

PREP ROUNDUP: Columbia rallies to beat Suwannee, Branford sweeps Lafayette

Columbia rallied from a two-set deficit to beat Suwannee 19-25, 23-25, 25-13, 25-13, 15-11 on the road Thursday night. Sinei Wood was the star once again for the Tigers (13-12) in their regular-season finale, finishing with 31 kills, four aces and 13 digs.
