BRANFORD — It was something Evie Pitts never could have imagined. When Branford added a girls weightlifting team four years ago and Pitts joined in, she couldn’t envision two traditional state titles or a snatch title.

Hayden Gustavson gave up the lead in the seventh inning, then redeemed himself in the eighth. The Florida State commit hit a one-out single and then scored on a walk-off double by Truitt Todd to lift Columbia to an 8-7 win over North Florida Christian at home Friday night in extra innings.
