Pregnancy Care Center celebrating 40 years

A local agency that has advocated for unborn babies and expectant mothers for the past four decades is holding a celebration to honor its legacy and impact on local communities. The Pregnancy Care Center is holding its 40th anniversary banquet in a few weeks.

Seven qualify for White Springs’ elections

WHITE SPRINGS — The Town of White Springs will indeed hold two elections next month. Four town residents qualified for the April 22 general election during the qualifying period that ended Tuesday, with three others qualifying for a special election that will be held at the same time.

Suwannee fair aims to provide ‘family fun for everyone’

LIVE OAK — The Suwannee County Fair, starting Friday, aims to provide “family fun for everyone” over the course of nine days. The 110th annual Fair opens Friday at the Suwannee County Fairgrounds, 1302 11th Street SW in Live Oak, and runs through March 29. The gates open at 6 p.m.

Spring Reunion set for Music Park this weekend

LIVE OAK — The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park will host the seventh annual Suwannee Spring Reunion this week. The family-friendly music festival spans four days and nights, beginning today, and includes camping, music workshops, kids’ activities, arts and crafts and daily yoga.

House eyes changes after 2024 hurricane season

TALLAHASSEE — From holding down property taxes on homes rebuilt after hurricanes to new post-storm rules for elections supervisors, the Florida House on Tuesday started moving forward with a proposal to address issues whipped up during the damaging 2024 hurricane season.
