Live Oak man killed in Putnam County crash

CARRAWAY — A Live Oak man was killed Tuesday morning when his car crossed over the center line and hit another car on State Road 100 in Putnam County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 34-year-old Live Oak man was traveling east on SR 100 at 7 a.m.

LIVE OAK — The job of luring development into Suwannee County will soon belong to someone else. Jimmy Norris, the county’s economic development director the past six years, submitted his resignation last week. His final day working for Suwannee County will be March 7.

Walt’s opens new Live Oak dealership

LIVE OAK — The Walt’s Auto Group campus on the north side of Live Oak now includes a second dealership. The Walt’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership, which had been located on U.S. Highway 90 on the west side of town, is now right next door to the Walt’s Live Oak Ford location on U.S. Highway 129.

LOPD investigating murder from Friday crash

LIVE OAK — The Live Oak Police Department continues to investigate a Friday morning crash that may also have included a murder. According to an LOPD release, officers responded to a crash at 7:30 a.m. Friday on Johnson Avenue where 2010 silver Audi was found.

Jasper woman killed after hitting utility pole

LIVE OAK — A Jasper woman was killed Wednesday when her car struck a utility pole. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 57-year-old woman was heading north on U.S. Highway 129 when her Honda 5D hatchback traveled onto the east shoulder near the Interstate 10 entrance ramp around 2:45 p.m.
