BHS graduation scheduled for Friday night

BRANFORD —  Nearly 100 Branford High students will complete their high school journey Friday night. BHS will hold its 2025 commencement at Buccaneer Stadium at 8 p.m. Friday with 97 graduation candidates.

City considers moving public works

LIVE OAK — The City of Live Oak’s public works department may be shifting gears and moving from downtown to the western side of the city.

City blocks one zoning request, approves 2 others

LIVE OAK — Two requests for land use and zoning changes to bring additional housing developments to the City of Live Oak were passed Tuesday evening. A third was not approved and then tabled to the Live Oak City Council’s June meeting.

Council moves forward with school zone speed cameras

LIVE OAK — The Live Oak City Council continued moving forward with plans to apply the brakes to speeders in school zones Tuesday night.

Qualifying open for Branford council election

BRANFORD — Qualifying for Branford’s town election is open through Friday. The Post 3 and Post 4 seats on the Branford Town Council, currently held by Jeremiah McCall and Stacey Griffith, are up for election in June. Qualifying ends Friday at noon.

Carter named NFC Student of the Year

MADISON — Hamilton County’s Kasey Carter captured North Florida College’s top student honor. During the college’s annual Honors Convocation ceremony April 24 on the Madison campus, Carter was named the NFC Student of the Year. The award is given to a student who maintains a GPA of 3.
