Brotherhood Ride leads cyclists to Gainesville

On Thursday afternoon Elks Lodge #990 in Gainesville hosted bicycle-riding firefighters participating in the Brotherhood Ride who came into town after riding 87 miles from Marion County. Their ride started Oct. 20 in Naples.

Life sentences handed down for sexual assaults

A Live Oak man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting children. Craig Ames, 60, was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences by Circuit Judge Mark Feagle on Oct. 16 after pleading guilty to charges for sexual battery of children under the age of 12.

No injuries in pair of Live Oak fires

Two separate residential fires inside the City of Live Oak last week resulted in no injuries. On Oct. 16, crews from the Live Oak Fire Department and the Suwannee County Fire Rescure responded to two structure fires.
