Thirsty man arrested for voyeurism

LIVE OAK — Looking for a drink at a neighbor’s house Friday morning landed a Live Oak peeping tom in jail. According to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Derek Platt was caught looking through a juvenile’s window around 6 a.m. Friday.

FDOT upgrading school zones

Nine local school zones will receive enhancements as part of a $1.5 million project in Northeast Florida. The Florida Department of Transportation’s District 2 began the school zone safety improvement project this week that includes 141 school zones in 13 counties.

Suwannee board requests investigation into land deal

LIVE OAK — The Suwannee County administrator’s role in a land deal will soon be under investigation. The Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners approved by a 4-1 vote Tuesday night at its regular board meeting to seek an independent investigation into the purchase of 11.

Christmas parade still a go for Fort White

FORT WHITE — The Yuletide spirit of the Christmas Holiday season will be featured in southern Columbia County next weekend during the annual Fort White Christmas parade. The parade will take place noon, Saturday, Dec. 12. The parade lineup starts at 10 a.m. at Fort White High School.

TALLAHASSEE — Florida for the first time since spring beat a monthly revenue forecast that had been in place before the coronavirus pandemic slammed into the state, according to an October report released Monday.

Record-breaking hurricane season comes to an end

It is finally coming to a close. The active 2020 Atlantic hurricane season is drawing to a close with a record-breaking 30 named storms and 12 landfalling storms in the continental United States.
