One killed in head-on collision

JASPER — One man was killed and another is in critical condition following a head-on collision early Sunday morning. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup was heading south on U.S. Hwy. 41 just north of Central Ave. around 5:20 a.m.

Number of missing in Surfside falls; nearby tower evacuated

SURFSIDE — The number of people missing in the Florida condominium collapse fell Friday following a new review, but fears of another potentially catastrophic failure deepened after engineers found unsafe conditions in a different tower and ordered the entire building evacuated.
