Bradley prepares for 2026 re-election bid

After running unopposed this year, Sen. Jennifer Bradley (R-Fleming Island) has taken an initial step toward seeking re-election in 2026. Bradley last month opened a 2026 campaign account in Senate District 6, according to the state Division of Elections website.

FBI seized 'top secret' documents from Trump home

WASHINGTON — The FBI recovered “top secret” and even more sensitive documents from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, according to court papers released Friday after a federal judge unsealed the warrant that authorized the sudden, unprecedented search this week.

Man who tried to breach FBI office shot, killed after standoff

WILMINGTON, Ohio — An armed man clad in body armor who tried to breach the FBI’s Cincinnati office on Thursday was shot and killed by police after he fled the scene and engaged in an hourslong standoff in a rural part of the state, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Allen to fill spouse’s term

LIVE OAK — The Live Oak City Council vacancy has been filled by a familiar name. At its Tuesday meeting, the council unanimously agreed to appoint Tesie Allen to fill out her late husband Don’s term, which ends in July 2024. Don Allen passed away July 16.

NFC honors 20 with BSN pinning ceremony

MADISON — Three local students were among North Florida College’s Bachelor of Science Degree Nursing Class of 2022. The college held a traditional pinning ceremony for the graduates on July 26, honored on the state at Van H. Priest Auditorium.
