County eyes end to NFMIP relationship with city

The honeymoon didn’t last long for local officials. Less than a year after agreeing to partner on a wastewater treatment plant for the North Florida Mega Industrial Park, the Columbia County officials are looking to terminate its agreement with the City of Lake City.

Clothes left in front yard lead to burglary arrests

An early morning call to police regarding a burglary in progress yielded a pair of arrests roughly four hours later. Amy Jean Pasternak, 30, and De’Arius Martice Daniels, 28, both of Lake City, were both taken into custody around 9 a.m.

Poolside fight ends in arrest of two men

A pair of Micanopy men were arrested near the Windsong apartment complex after an apparent fight at the facility’s pool.  Lake City police officers responded to a report around 3 p.m. Saturday of a man being held to the ground after he grabbed a child in the pool, according to an LCPD release.
Lake City’s Lindsey Langston was crowned USA National Miss Florida last weekend. Langston, who was Miss Florida Teen in 2018, will now compete for Miss USA in July.

Teens arrested after leading cops on chase

Two Lake City teens, one a 14-year-old juvenile, were arrested Wednesday night after they led police on a brief chase when authorities attempted to apprehend them for their alleged involvement in burglarizing a local residence.
