It began small but Shannon Hardin’s vision for the Clothes 4 Kids Closet is much, much bigger. Three years ago, Hardin wanted to sponsor a school-age child that needed clothes. When she heard there was a list of 15 families at the school in need, Hardin started thinking bigger.

LIVE OAK — Monday was a bittersweet day for Blair Beatty. On one hand, the Live Oak postmaster and his employees had a new, spacious facility to call home. But, on the other, the new Live Oak Post Office at Live Oak Commons on U.S. Hwy.

FGC to honor graduates in-person

Florida Gateway College will hold live in-person commencement ceremonies next month. The college announced Monday its plans to host smaller ceremonies Dec. 8, 10-11, similar to its graduation plans from the spring semester.

Library program offers high school diplomas

The local library system is offering more than books. A returning program at the Columbia County Library provides an opportunity for adults to get their high school diploma through the Career Online High School program.
