ACE Medical making next pitch to LSHA

The Lake Shore Hospital Authority has scheduled another presentation with a potential lessee as it continues to look to resume operations and services at the LakeShore Regional Medical Center. The next presentation has been scheduled for 5:15 p.m.

Waving goodbye: Green Acres hosts parade for Scott’s last day

A steady stream of about 75 cars filled with students past and present rolled through the Green Acres Learning Center parking lot Thursday afternoon. Kim Scott, the learning center’s director of 23 years, welled up with joy at every single one of them.

Vaccine eligibility expands to all K-12 teachers, veterans

As covid-19 vaccine supplies become more readily available, so do the opportunities for Columbia County residents to get vaccinated against the virus. Teachers and veterans are the focus of latest rounds of covid-19 vaccinations.

Johnsons are FAMU royalty: Youngest daughter to be crowned Miss FAMU, joining family tradition.

TALLAHASSEE — Vivian Bradley and Frederick Johnson met long before attending Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. The two met in a local grocery store in Lake City. “My grandmother thought he was such a nice young man and he didn’t mind working,” said Vivian.

Altrusa hosts 23rd annual Girls Summit

Forty-four local sixth graders learned what it means to “Be loyal to the royal within you” on Saturday. The Altrusa Club of Lake City hosted its 23rd annual Girls Summit at The Blanch in downtown Lake City on Saturday focused around that theme to remind the girls of their self-worth.

Suwannee commission clears radio purchase

LIVE OAK — Communication among members of the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office just got easier. The Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved at Tuesday night’s meeting purchasing new radios for the SCSO and switching it to the state’s radio system.
