Five vie for council seat

The Lake City Council will have options for filling its vacant council seat. Prior to Thursday’s 5 p.m. deadline to submit letters of interest, five people applied for the District 14 position vacated by Chris Greene’s resignation four weeks ago.

No ETA on city hall opening

Lake City residents will have to wait a while before accessing a city hall that contains all the traditional services.

A project that was conceived roughly 10 years ago finally broke ground Wednesday on a small sliver of land in central Columbia County with promises of environmental and economic impacts in the area.

Board backs tax rebate for Bell Road project

A potential project in the Bell Road corridor could receive eight years worth of a tax rebate. The Columbia County Economic Development Advisory Board unanimously approved recommending the incentive for Project 21-1 at its Wednesday morning meeting.

The Lake City-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is down to two, again. The Chamber announced Tuesday afternoon that Staz Guntek and Joey O’Hern are the two finalists for its vacant executive director position.
