City Manager short list features three

Lake City has finalists for its vacant manager position once again. Renee Narloch, the Tallahassee-based consultant the Lake City Council hired to guide it through the search process for a new top administrator, will recommend three finalists to the council at its meeting Monday at 6 p.m.

Grant to buoy Project Wave

Columbia County is looking to pump in more grant funds to support Project Wave. The first proposed tenant at the North Florida Mega Industrial Park is the county’s business partner as it applies for a Community Development Block Grant for Economic Development.

Christmas has come early for some local schools. Armed with some rare leftover funds, Inga Dwyer, the Toys for Tots coordinator for Columbia and Suwannee counties, is delivering more presents. The gift?

LCPD searching for suspects following gunfire at apartments

Reports of gunfire at a Lake City apartment complex Wednesday afternoon turned up spend shell casings, but no suspects. According to a Lake City Police Department release, officers responded to the Cedar Park Apartments on NW Bascom Norris Drive at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday after a report of gunfire.

LC man faces burglary charges for home invasion

Shattering a pair of doors, a Lake City man was arrested Monday on burglary and property damage charges. According to the Lake City Police Department, a woman on SW Lake Montgomery Drive reported around 2:54 p.m.

TDC floats $10K for new pier

Columbia High School evacuated over bomb threat

It turned out to be just a “big, bad drill.” A bomb threat received late Tuesday morning at Columbia High School led to the evacuation of the school and a district-wide disruption of transportation services.
