Cyclist kidnaps driver after minor accident

After causing a minor accident last week, authorities say a cyclist then forced the driver to take them elsewhere. According to a Lake City Police Department release, an employee at Baya Pharmacy West was headed south toward the U.S.

Donation has Angel Radio back on air

After complaints about a local radio station’s audio cutting out, one generous listener has helped with new hardware. Early this year, Pastor Anthony Gomes of The Angel Radio Network, 107.9 FM, was stopped by folks on the street to tell him they couldn’t hear his radio broadcast.

FHP seeking Toyota truck from hit-and-run

Authorities are looking for a pickup that fled Thursday morning after injuring an 11-year-old girl northwest of Lake City. According to a Florida Highway Patrol release, a white Toyota pickup backed into a girl at the intersection of NW Turner Avenue and NW Whitney Glen at 7:15 a.m.

School board sets hearing on zoning

The Columbia County School District is considering new school rezoning maps, with the imminent arrival of a new school, the closure of one, construction of another school and an overall decline in student population.

Bus crash sends students to ER
