4 pounds of meth found in search

A Drug Task Force investigation turned up more than four pounds of methamphetamine as well as a stolen car.. According to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office release, 22-year-old Michael Perry, of Lake City, was arrested Tuesday following a search at a residence off SE Track Drive in Lake City.

A nearly two-hour workshop Thursday produced a list of proposed changes on how Columbia County can better regulate RV parks and campgrounds, including limiting people using the sites as permanent residences.

Home invasion shooting may be Stand Your Ground

A shooting Tuesday night that resulted in a Lake City man killed after breaking into a home may fall under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. According to the Lake City Police Department, the investigation into the incident suggests the case may qualify. The investigation is ongoing.
