HILLIARD — When the Indians picked up their first technical foul of the Region 3-R championship game Tuesday, they used it to fuel a massive comeback. When Fort White picked up its second, it signaled the end of one senior’s season and the slow downfall for the team.

PREP BASEBALL: Columbia's bats come alive to run-rule short-handed Santa Fe

It didn’t matter to Columbia that Santa Fe came into the game short-handed from suspensions to key players from a previous game. The Tigers had their own early-season struggle to work through, and they had no problem taking full advantage of the Raiders’ predicament.

FORT WHITE — It was a season opener that lived up to the billing. Harleigh Price and Kadence Compton went toe to toe in a much-anticipated pitcher’s duel. In the end, Price’s squad made a couplemore plays than Compton’s.

PREP BASEBALL: Columbia struggles to hit, gets shut out by Buchholz

GAINESVILLE — Buchholz had a knack for scoring runs with two outs. Columbia helped out with some defensive miscues too. The Bobcats benefitted from three errors and a passed ball to score four unearned runs while scoring seven runs with two outs to shut out the Tigers 8-0 at home Friday night.
