PREP BASEBALL: Early offense, pitching carries Suwannee to rivalry win over Columbia

LIVE OAK — At the halfway point of its season, Suwannee has proven worthy of the hype. A10-3 record looks even better considering Suwannee’s three losses are to a pair of the best teams in the state in No. 19 Santa Fe and No. 8 Chiles, according to MaxPreps.

PREP BASEBALL: Heiderman leads Branford past Bell

Seth Heiderman pitched five innings and allowed just one run on two hits to lead Branford to a 4-1 win over Bell at home Monday night. Heiderman also had an RBI at the plate for the Buccaneers (4-7). JJ Chaillou and Keilani Wilson each added an RBI as well to take down the Bulldogs (1-9).

PREP SOFTBALL: Fort White is learning — and winning — on the fly as impressive start continues

FORT WHITE — Six sophomores, a pair of freshmen and even four eighth graders make up a majority of Fort White’s softball program. To some, an 8-3 start to the season may be surprising, but not for head coach Michele Padgett. This is exactly what she expected.
