BOYS WRESTLING: Suwannee places 3rd at District 2-1A IBT

CRAWFORDVILLE — Suwannee’s entire boys wrestling team advanced for next week’s regional tournament. The Bulldogs, who placed third as a team in the District 2-1A IBT tournament Thursday at Wakulla with 179 points to Florida High’s 220.5 and Wakulla’s 181.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia carries confidence into regional semifinal rematch with Ponte Vedra

There’s plenty of confidence inside Columbia’s locker room. Maybe even a little too much. The No. 6 seed Tigers enter Saturday’s Region 1-5A semifinal at No. 2 seed Ponte Vedra believing they can win after their first meeting over there during the regular season.

Baseball is a funny game. One night you get your teeth kicked in. The next you pay it forward to someone else. Columbia bounced back from its shutout loss to Suwannee with a 13-3 run-rule win over Episcopal School of Jacksonville at home Thursday night.

PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White, Lafayette moved into new district in Class 1A

Two weeks after eliminating the Rural classification in football, the FHSAA released revised districts for Class 1A on Friday. The remaining teams left in Rural were moved into 1A, with Fort White and Lafayette listed together in a new district.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia rallies from 10 down to knock off Lincoln in Region 1-5A quarterfinals

TALLAHASSEE — On the verge of unraveling, it was a sophomore who steadied the ship for Columbia. Trailing Lincoln by 10 midway through the fourth quarter, Zadrian Knowlton knocked down a 3-pointer to pull his team back within seven. “I play with a lot of confidence,” Knowlton said.
