Robbery suspect nabbed

BRANFORD — Armed with a tip from a “good citizen” and some quick-footed officers, the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office captured the suspect from an armed robbery Thursday. Daniel Scott Mobley Sr.

Jury: O’Steen didn’t conspire

DOH hoping pantries provide food access

MAYO — Looking to fill a need, the Florida Department of Health in Lafayette and Suwannee counties is now hoping for help in stocking shelves. As part of the department’s Healthiest Weight Florida program, the local health departments saw a need in the communities for access to food. The solution?

District: May was wetter than normal

LIVE OAK — North Central Florida received more rain than normal last month. According to the Suwannee River Water Management District, its 15-county district received an average of 3.77 inches of rain in May. That’s up from the 90-year average from 1932 to 2021 of 3.46 inches.

Family feud sparks shooting

LIVE OAK — A Live Oak teenager took a family feud into his own hands Monday morning. Upset with a family member, the 15-year-old male teen shot an adult female family member in the left arm while she was sleeping around 10 a.m. before fleeing the residence on 72nd Terrace just west of Live Oak.
