Suspect sought in gun store burglary

LIVE OAK — Authorities in Suwannee County are searching for a Lake City man following a gun store burglary last month. Lundy’s Gun Shop on U.S. Hwy. 129 south of Live Oak was burglarized June 21 with 17 guns stolen, according to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office.

Starting this fall, aspiring teachers will be able to earn a Bachelor of Science in elementary education at Florida Gateway College.  The degree will equip educators to teach kindergarten through sixth grade, with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math.

A Lake City woman who punched an animal control officer who was trying to take neglected dogs from her property had to be tasered three times before she was taken into custody Wednesday evening by a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputy, according to CCSO.

A man wanted for trafficking in stolen property was arrested after he was seen acting suspiciously in a local motel parking lot Tuesday afternoon. Jason Patrick Morgan, 42, of Northwest Brady Circle, was seen walking in the parking lot at Baymont Inn off U.S. Highway 90 around 1 p.m.
