Seven show interest in Lake Shore

The proposals are in and there are seven parties interested in operating Lake Shore Hospital. Dale Williams, Lake Shore Hospital Authority Executive Director, said five of the responses were received prior to the 10 a.m. Monday deadline.

County Commission candidates discuss jobs, infrastructure at forum

A slew of candidates from three County Commission races appeared on stage Monday night for the first evening of the Lake City Reporter’s multi-day political forum for the August primary, which boasted an all-new format that sought to foster a more conversational tone.

Much has changed since DeWitt Cason first took office. When Cason was first elected as the clerk of court for Columbia County in 1988, the office didn’t even have a fax machine.
