Three injured in Lake City shooting

A late night shooting incident Tuesday on the north side of Lake City sent three people to area hospitals. Lake City police officers responded to the area of NW Early Street and NW Georgia Avenue, just west of NW Main Boulevard, around 10:30 p.m.

Hospital building status still uncertain

One building at the Lake Shore Hospital Authority’s campus is now spoken for. Now the process for finding a tenant for the main hospital building will be taken directly to Columbia County residents. Tuesday night’s LSHA meeting saw Your ER Solutions, led by Drs.

DeSantis making Lake City ‘Pit Stop’

Ron DeSantis’ re-election campaign is making a North Florida pit stop this week. As the campaign winds down, DeSantis will appear at Florida Gateway College’s Howard Center on Thursday for a “Keep Florida Free Pit Stop” rally at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m.

The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and the Florida Gateway Fair are looking for talented performers. The fair’s annual talent contest is Thursday at the Florida Gateway Fairgrounds, but the registration deadline is 5 p.m. today.

Fire blazes at storage lot

A plume of black smoke bellowed over the eastern tree line in Lake City Monday afternoon. Firefighters from both the Lake City Fire Department and Columbia County Fire Rescue responded to battle the shed fire on U.S. Highway 90 East across from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Operation Center.
