Shooting hoax reported at FGC

The hoax of an armed shooter on campus graduated to Florida Gateway College on Tuesday. Sgt. Steven Khachigan, a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said the agency responded to the FGC campus to the report of a shooter at the college, but it was a “false alarm.

A Lake City teen has been arrested for the shooting death of another teen two years ago. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday morning the arrest of 18-year-old Brandon Hopkins in the February 2021 slaying of teen Dionne Leslie.
